Self-exclusion. Provincial programs — PlaySmart in Ontario, GameSense in British Columbia and Alberta — cover operators licensed in that province. Offshore operators are not connected to them, which is exactly why a self-exclusion only holds if you stop looking here too.
Most operators on the main page offer deposit limits, a cooling-off period and self-exclusion, usually in the account menu under Responsible Gambling or Limits.
Set a deposit limit before your first deposit. With many operators an increase only takes effect after a waiting period, which is precisely the moment you would not want to raise it.
